From May 31st to June 2nd, EAVI participated to the conference European Citizneship in Challenging TimesĀ at the University of Barcelona. Organised by the European Observatory on Memories (EUROM) and supported by the European Commission, citizenhsip and remembrance organisations, university stakeholders and members of the ECĀ joined to discuss and reflect on the direction of the Europe for Citizens Programme.

The conference, opened byĀ founder of the Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza, Adam Michnik, was a productive momentĀ for attendees to discuss the challenges of Euroscepticism, populism, the migration crisis, how to defend citizens rights and values and encourage citizen participation on a national and international level.

The connectionsĀ that EAVI was able to have with members of similar European organisations was valuable for future collaborations and idea sharing.
