EAVI wishes to invite our individual members from Belgium to apply to participate in a week of Train the Trainer workshops in Slovenia:  NEE(D)T Youth Work, 6-12th of November 2017  in Črnomelj, Slovenia.

Our partner, Youth Center BIT  (Mladinski centre BIT), is organising a seven day workshop for youth workers dealing with NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) young people.

Context: The future of Europe depends on the millions of young Europeans aged between 15 and 29 years old. Nowadays many young people are facing excessive percentage of unemployment and one of six young Europeans is at risk of becoming marginalised.

To gain back self-confidence and self-awareness, to transform the skills and talents of NEET youth into opportunities for employment, it is important that youth workers know how to use non-formal training methods. Non-formal training skills can help youth workers provide young people with information on training opportunities, help in taking their first steps in employment and going back to school.

During the 7 day workshop, youth workers will receive training in all the necessary methods of non-formal training approaches needed for working with NEET youth.

Trainer: The workshop is animated by an experienced youth trainer, Angelos Parmatzias. He is a founder and president of Citizens in Power. Angelos has extensive experience in educational projects (“Run the World”, “Person of the year: The Entrepreneur” and “A Network for your Networth”) and he provides training related to entrepreneurship and employment. He is also a part time lecturer at Global Semesters at the University of Nicosia, responsible for the production of teaching material, the assessment of the module and the provision of written feedback to students of International Business and Entrepreneurship course.

Venue place: Črnomelj is situated 92km from Ljubljana and 100 km from Zagreb, in the south-eastern part of Slovenia region called Bela Krajina, known as for its famous protected wine production.

Accommodation, food and travel: The accommodation is provided in an educational tourist centre, which is located 2 minutes from a centre of Črnomelj.
