EAVI is run by a small dynamic team based in Brussels. Many are the experts, volunteers and people who are collaborating with EAVI on a project-by-project basis.

The EAVI team is multicultural and enthusiastic and each member brings his/her own special interest, experience and ability to the association.

EAVI develops, coordinates and launches projects and civil society initiatives, enhances its existing network of players in the field, participates actively in studies and researches. From Brussels we also ensure the smooth running of daily activities, administration, ICT, communication, fundraising, calls for proposals, etc.

 

Paolo_Celot

 

Paolo Celot, Founding Member and Secretary General

Paolo is Founding member and Secretary General of EAVI – a not-for-profit international organisation based in Brussels.

Over the last twenty years, he has accumulated a considerable international experience in the media, working for long periods in London, Milan and Brussels for both public and private broadcasters, including the BBC, RAI and the EBU, for television advertising agencies as well as collaborating with various public institutions.

Paolo is an economist from Pisa University and a European affairs advisor specialised in the media sector. He is a an expert on media literacy for the European Commission, a member of the Steering Commitee on Media and Information Society at the Council of Europe, and a member of the Active Citizenship Group for the European Commission. Paolo has also authored books and studies, given public presentations and contributed to publications on media and citizens related issues in four different languages within his professional activity.

He remains animated by the numerous challenges posed by emerging media forms and is greatly interested by the issues related to media literacy and European public spheres.

Kristina Stoycheva, Communication officer

Kristina initially joined our team in the middle of October, 2013 for a 5-month traineeship as part of her Master program in Communication and Innovation studies at the Wageningen University in the Netherlands. During that time she was actively involved with bringing one of the final phases of the EMEDUS project to a successful completion. Her contribution entailed drafting political recommendations, based on a number of studies already carried out within the framework of the project. Presently, she is responsible for coordinating EAVI’s projects as well as engaged with promoting and further developing our EYAG network.

Andreea Udrea, Communication Trainee

Andreea joined EAVI in April, 2015 for a 6-month traineeship. She received her education at the West University – Faculty of Economics and Business Administration in Timisoara, Romania, where she graduated as an Economist. After a while, she discovered her high interest and passion in the field of Marketing & Communication, and so she decided to explore opportunities in this way – one of them was an internship of 6 months at The Center for Creative Leadership in Brussels, followed by her active involvement within JCI THOE, as part of the Internal Communication Team. Andreea’s role at EAVI is to develop marketing messages, manage social media platforms, maintain our websites, while making research about funding opportunities.

Alexander Vandenberghe, Trainee

Alexander joined EAVI in May 2015 as a trainee. He has a master’s degree both in philosophy and in international relations & diplomacy from the Universiteit Antwerpen and has experience in cinematography. Currently he is also involved as a campaigner for PAX Christi Vlaanderen, working on a campaign on disarmament and reintegration in the greater Kivu region in the DRC. During his traineeship Alexander will be working on the implementation and conceptualisation of several EAVI projects.  He will also monitor relevant EU policies on media and digital education and, when required, represent EAVI at conferences. Alexander will also provide the content & layout for the EAVI newsletter.

Gokhan joined EAVI in September 2015. He has a bachelor degree in computer engineering from Halic University in Istanbul, Turkey. Currently he is involved in a master degree programme in business and management at KU Leuven. During his internship Gokhan will be working on IT projects for EAVI, developing a mobile application and he will also help providing content for the EAVI newsletter and maintaining social media accounts.

Davide Rambaldi, Trainee

Davide joined EAVI in October 2015. He has a Master Degree in Media & Public Relations from Newcastle University and a Bachelor in Humanities from Bologna University. His dissertation research investigated user’s mechanisms of trust towards online news. He has previously worked as a marketer/PR intern in England, he has collaborated with several magazines as a journalist and was an online radio announcer in Italy. He loves writing, playing music and video-making.
