The CinELmotion project is designed to promote awareness and critical understanding while strengthening the links between European and Latin American cinema and it is targeted to young European and Latin American audience, teachers and students of cinema.

CinELmotion was developed within the Media International Programme of the European Commission and is coordinated by EAVI in collaboration with the Iberoamerican Association of Educational Television (ATEI), MIZAR Multimedia, the Ministry of Innovation and Culture of the State of Santa Fe in Argentina, and Tevé Ciudad in Uruguay.

The project has three main activities: Firstly, three television programs, with the purpose of expanding the potential audience of Latin American and European films, will be produced and broadcasted widely. You can see the trailer of the first magazine in this article. Secondly, we have developed www.cinelmotion.eu, as an online platform in order to share resources to promote film literacy. Thirdly, a booklet with film literacy articles as well as the results of this project will be published.

TV programmes

The consortium lead by EAVI has broadcasted the three programmes of Cinelmotion throughout Ibero-American countries like Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Uruguay and Spain. These programmes are aimed at promoting awareness and critical understanding of film while strengthening the links between European and Latin American cinema.

First programme: There are two main features of the first programme: The first is an inside report in two different film schools, one in Cuba and the other in Spain. The second feature is interviews with, amongst others, Juan José Campanella, director of “The Secret in Their Eyes” which won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film at the 82nd Academy Awards, and its protagonists Ricardo Darín and Soledad Villamil.

Second programme: The second programme main features are an inside report on how special effects are produced and a full coverage of the 17th Barcelona Independent Film Festival, with interviews to directors and media professionals.

Third Programme: The third programme main features are an inside report on make-up for films and an interviews with the directors of “La vida de los peces”, “La inspiracion de Van Gogh” and “Andres no quiere dormir la siesta”.
