Collection of Citizens Signatures
EAVI in partnership with AIART have launched and carried out a signature collection campaign in order to present a “popular initiative” bill to the Italian Congress in 2010. This campaign aims to introduce Media Education as part of the school curricula.
The concrete outcome of this initiative was the collection of 62 000 signatures across Italy supporting the initiative. This campaign has been tremendously successful, collecting 12 000 more signatures than was the initial objective.
The initiative was presented by EAVI and AIART to the Information Society and Media Directorate General of the European Commission on the twelfth of January 2010.
The signatures along with the “popular initiative” bill will be presented to the Italian parliament in the coming months , with the aim of including Media Education in the curricula of Italian schools.
