To participate and take advantage, citizens must be media literate – equipped with the skills to benefit from and fully participate in every aspect of public life. Today therefore, European citizens need to acquire new competences. Media literacy, which represents the result of the process of media education, will constitute the main subject for discussion throughout the conference.

Within this context emerged the importance of a European network such asthe one of EAVI and the need for new publications on media literacy.
