A one day event, with a choice of workshops showing you hands-on tools and methods to tackle topics such as propaganda, disinformation and fake news.

The media landscape has been shaken up by growing concerns about online disinformation and propaganda. After the term ‘fake news’ was catapulted to the forefront during the 2016 US presidential election campaigns, the European Commission has made fighting disinformation a policy priority in light of the European Parliament elections in 2019. Media literacy educators recognise the need to foster skills that enable citizens to become thoughtful consumers as well as producers of information. This event will offer a variety of tools to help tackle disinformation, make young voters aware of propaganda, and use media literacy to enhance the quality of the public debate.
