The European Association for Viewers Interests fills the institutional gap in representing viewers at European level. The main assumption – whether there is a need for a European association of this kind – has already been fully validated. To achieve its objective, EAVI could carry out a vast range of activities, therefore being very busy in the years to come. The aim of the session is to priotarise these actions and to discuss how a healthy development of the association can be guaranteed. A big challenge, will be the need to secure the necessary financial resources. Other aspects are related to the legitimacy to act on behalf of the viewers, to gain credibility in the long term and to professionally manage the European association. It is explored how this can be feasible.
