EAVI Digital Well-Being Campaign: Moji & Meme

MOJI AND MEME

The EAVI Cat, MOJI, and the EAVI Turtle, MEME, are the chosen protagonists of the EAVI campaign to reflect on healthier technology habits.

The campaign was officially launched at Voices, the first European Festival of Journalism and Media Literacy, which was held in Florence from 14 to 16 March.

Engaging Content:

The campaign will distribute twenty visually appealing joke cartoons that highlight the importance of digital well-being and resonate with the audience.

We will distribute a new illustration every week starting on April 8, 2024. Stay tuned to our social media accounts!

The initiative seeks to raise awareness, enhance reflection, and promote mindful media usage. The campaign fits within EAVI’s experience and knowledge and continues to explore ways of effectively reaching the general public in a non-moralistic way. By using creativity, storytelling, and humour, we aim to foster meaningful behaviour change.

In our interconnected world, media consumption is integral to our lives. However, mindless usage can negatively affect mental, emotional, and social well-being. Parents, children, and educators face the challenge of striking a balance between the advantages of technology and its potential drawbacks.

The Objectives:

1) Raise Awareness: Through relatable and humorous cartoons and comics, the campaign will raise awareness about the impact of technology on well-being, enhancing reflections among parents, children and educators;

2) Promote Mindful Digital Usage: The visual content showcases real-life scenarios and strategies to use technology responsibly;

3) Support Educators: The comprehensive book will equip educators with a ready-to-use pedagogical tool to guide children and parents towards healthy habits;

4) Engage Children Creatively: The campaign aims to capture attention and inspire its audience to make positive changes in their digital behaviours by using engaging and amusing content.

Thanks to the artist Anna Piratti for the excellent drawings and to Susie Jones for the ideas, the making of humorous quotes, and the play with words of the whole series.

We are also very grateful to the Walt Disney Company for supporting our campaign.
